It's just about the only sane way to get to the east coast until the 15km northern highway tunnel is opened. The train makes good time around the coast with some spectacular scenery along the way, mountains on one side, Pacific Ocean on the other. Numerous trips are made along the North Link, East Coast, and South Link lines of the island belt line.
